SHIMANO Tiagra Conventional Lever Drag Reel
The SHIMANO Tiagra Conventional Lever Drag Reel is the pinnacle of offshore reel engineering, purpose-built for serious anglers and professional captains who understand the critical role your equipment plays in landing trophy fish. At its core lies SHIMANO's proprietary hydrothermal drag system, a technological advancement that addresses a fundamental challenge in conventional reels: drag inconsistency under load.
By virtually eliminating the variance that compromises performance in traditional big-game designs, the Tiagra maintains precise drag settings throughout extended battles, whether you're fighting a 300-pound marlin or working structure in deep water. The reel's solid aluminum frame provides exceptional rigidity and corrosion resistance, essential qualities for heavy-line applications where frame flex can translate to lost fish. This construction philosophy extends the reel's operational life across multiple seasons of demanding use. The Tiagra's architecture makes it equally suited for long-range expeditions where reliability cannot be compromised and conventional tackle must perform flawlessly in remote conditions.

Custom spooling including top-shots, wind-ons, hollow-core backing, and fluorocarbon are available. Call or send a note with your requirements and we'll advise costs. All reels are machine spooled under ideal tension, braid is spooled with approximately 50 feet of mono backing. Wind-on leaders are offered for both hollow core and non-hollow braid, hollow core is spliced and non-hollow braid is connected loop-to-loop with a bimni twist.
