Product Highlights
SHIMANO Stella FK Front Drag Spinning Reel

The Stella FK represents Shimano's latest evolution in spinning reel technology. Built on cold-forged HAGANE gears and refined MicroModule II technology, the InfinityXross system distributes load evenly across gear teeth for exceptional durability. InfinityDrive delivers smooth rotation and increased cranking power under load, while the revolutionary Duracross drag system offers 10 times the durability of traditional felt drags with Cross Carbon toughness. InfinityLoop technology extends spool oscillation for even line lay and improved casting performance. The Anti-Twist Fin and redesigned drag knob enhance reeling control with superior line management. X-Ship Spinning, Rigid Support Drag, and a one-piece bail complete a reel engineered for serious anglers.

Spooling Option

Select from standard spooling options listed in the drop-down menu above, or let us know how you would like your reel spooled. Custom spooling including top-shots, wind-ons, hollow-core backing, and fluorocarbon are available. Call or send a note with your requirements and we’ll advise costs. All reels are machine spooled under ideal tension, braid is spooled with approximately 50 feet of mono backing. Wind-on leaders are offered for both hollow core and non-hollow braid, hollow core is spliced and non-hollow braid is connected loop-to-loop with a bimni twist.

Enhanced Gear Durability

Enhanced Gear Durability

The revolutionary InfinityXross technology reshapes the drive and pinion gear tooth profiles to spread structural stress horizontally over a much wider surface area. This load distribution prevents premature wear at localized stress points and ensures the system maintains its signature smooth feel over years of use.
Exceptional Casting Performance

Exceptional Casting Performance

Using InfinityLoop technology, the reel drives an ultra-slow spool oscillation system to lay your line in a meticulously tight, parallel pattern. This parallel alignment prevents individual coils from digging into one another, drastically lowering friction so your lures fly farther and truer during a cast.
Increased Cranking Power

Increased Cranking Power

Inspired by specialized saltwater platforms, InfinityDrive utilizes a one-of-a-kind low-friction bushing and proprietary main shaft treatment to remove internal rotational drag. This provides an incredible winding torque straight into your hands, letting you easily crank down and reel in a powerful fish even when the blank is completely doubled over under load.

Before you buy

Frequently asked questions.

Still unsure? Call +1-877-337-9591. You'll talk to a builder, not a sales rep.

  • Is the Stella FK safe for saltwater use?

Yes, it is entirely saltwater safe. The Stella FK features an X-Protect coating, which creates a water-repellant surface and a textured structure to channel water away from the roller clutch and line roller.

However, it is built for light-to-medium saltwater use (inshore, flats, light reef). If you are targeting massive offshore pelagics like tuna, marlin, or large sharks, we recommend the Stella SW (Saltwater). The SW version is built with heavier internal gears, a significantly more robust drag system, and a heavier frame explicitly designed to take the beating of deep-sea fishing.

  • Can I use the Stella FK for heavy-cover bass fishing, or is it too delicate?

It has the power, but it is not optimal for heavy cover. The magnesium HAGANE Body and cold-forged gears provide incredible torque and rigidity, meaning the reel will not flex or fail when pulling fish out of weeds.
However, spinning reels in general are restricted by lower line capacities for thick, heavy-diameter lines. For heavy-cover flipping, punching, or throwing frogs into thick pads, a heavy-duty baitcasting reel is still the preferred choice for its direct winching power and compatibility with heavy braided line.

  • What is "Infinity Loop" line lay, and will it cause wind knots?

Infinity Loop is a slow-oscillation system that moves the spool up and down incredibly slowly, wrapping the line in precise, parallel coils. This eliminates overlapping wraps, drastically reducing friction during your cast for maximum distance.

While it produces unmatched casting distance, it still requires proper line management. If you cast light lures into a strong headwind, or fail to keep tension on the line when closing the bail, loose loops can form on the spool which can lead to wind knots.
