SHIMANO Curado DC Baitcasting Reel
Built on the legacy of durability, dependability, and versatility that Curado is known for, the Shimano Curado DC series takes casting performance to the next level with Shimano’s unique Digital Control (DC) braking technology. Using a microcomputer to monitor spool speed 1,000 times per second, the DC system applies the perfect amount of brake to prevent backlash while maximizing casting distance. Anglers of all skill levels will appreciate the trouble-free casting and reduced need for thumb control in any condition.
Expanding the lineup, the all-new Curado DC 200 offers up to 40% more line capacity than the standard Curado DC. This added capacity provides anglers with greater versatility when fishing heavier line, throwing larger lures, or making long-bomb casts in open water. At the core, the I-DC4 system gives anglers four easy-to-use settings that precisely adjust braking to match conditions and lure choice- whether fishing in heavy wind, switching between techniques, or pushing distance to reach wary fish.
Together, the Curado DC and Curado DC 200 deliver Shimano’s most advanced casting control in a tournament-proven platform built for anglers who want to fish smarter, cast farther, and worry less about backlashes.

Select from standard spooling options listed in the drop-down menu above, or let us know how you would like your reel spooled. Custom spooling including top-shots, wind-ons, hollow-core backing, and fluorocarbon are available. Call or send a note with your requirements and we'll advise costs. All reels are machine spooled under ideal tension, braid is spooled with approximately 50 feet of mono backing. Wind-on leaders are offered for both hollow core and non-hollow braid, hollow core is spliced and non-hollow braid is connected loop-to-loop with a bimni twist.
