Shifting is entirely mechanical and handled externally by a quick-change control framework on the handle shaft. To engage the ultra-low torque gear, push the button located directly in the center of the handle pivot axle. To shift back up to the high-speed recovery gear, you simply slide the release lever located just below the handle arm.

Traditional gears engage one full tooth face at a time, creating small vibrations and chatter under extreme pressure.
