Usually used for trolling 50-80 lb. line with 30 LRSA or 50 class reels. This model is built as a one-piece rod with a hard fiber slick butt. Similar models available with a two-piece aluminum butt and with an AFTCO three-piece Storabutt designed for optimal storage. Since we build each rod in our shop, rods can also be wrapped in custom colors and your monogram, boat name, or other logo can be added at minimal additional cost.
After fishing a number of different offshore rods over the years, this angler found the CHAOS ECL 50-100 6FT 2PC to be a strong fit for their trolling setup, pairing it with 50W Avet reels spooled with 80 lb braid and an 80 lb mono topshot. What stood out most was the rod’s balance of power and flex. Rather than feeling like a heavy “broomstick,” the blank keeps a deep, responsive bend that lets the angler feel the fish, maintain steady pressure, and stay connected throughout the fight. The use of genuine Fuji turbo guides was another key factor, offering a more dependable option than lower-cost turbo clone guides, which the angler had previously failed.
Compared to roller guide setups, which can create issues with wind-on leaders and swivels jamming in the guides, the Fuji turbo guide configuration provided a practical, reliable choice for offshore trolling without adding unnecessary cost.
