CHAOS SW Tournament Series Swordfish 6FT Deep Drop Rod- Full Curve Butt
NOW AVAILABLE TO UPGRADE WITH WINTHROP TERMINATOR BUTTS!
The CHAOS SW Tournament Series is designed for reeling in monster swordfish. FUJI SiC running guides and a Winthrop Roller Top provide clearance for larger knots and leaders. When your not on the swords, this rod is also effective for chasing big tuna or even high-speed trolling for wahoo!
We've got CHAOS SW Rods built for 30 to 80 class reels, now with your choice of a Winthrop Terminator Butt or Alps Curved Butt! Since we build each in rod our Pompano Beach shop, rods can be wrapped in custom colors and wrap designs. We can also easily add monogramming and decals for a small additional fee!
Please note: No refunds are available for standard rod parts if optional upgrades are selected!
Customization Option
CHAOS Rods are built one at time in our Florida shop. For that reason, we can customize your rods to meet your needs. We can alter the length of rods or grips to your preference, and change guides and components as requested. We can also personalize the appearance of your rod to match an existing set, add your initials or boat name, or completely customize the rod color, wrap, and even add an image of the target species on the rod. Some options are available online, but if you don't see exactly what you want call us at 877-337-9591 and we'll gladly accommodate your requests.

Field Report
A 287-pound sword on the third day.
Day three of the deep drop tournament. We dropped 1,400 feet down in 1,800 of water and waited. The bite came slow — not a slam, just a tap and a steady pull. I let it eat, set, and held on.
The rod loaded end to end. Forty-five minutes of pumping, no high-sticking, no spongy give. When we got color, the leader man had gloves on and the fish came up clean. Two hundred eighty-seven pounds.
I've fought big fish on lighter rods that gave up halfway. This one didn't blink.

Frequently asked questions.
Still unsure? Call +1-877-337-9591. You'll talk to a builder, not a sales rep.
-
What line weight is this rod rated for?
The Swordfish Tournament 6FT handles 50-80lb braided line and up to 100lb mono. Built specifically for deep drop rigging with lead weights up to 8 pounds.
-
Is this rod meant for trolling or deep dropping?
Deep dropping. The full curve butt geometry is built to absorb the steady load of a sword on a long-haul drop in 1,200-2,000 feet of water. Trolling rods need different blank action — see our Tournament Trolling series for that work.
-
How long does the warranty last?
Lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects. CHAOS rods are hand-laid in our Florida shop, and we stand behind every blank we ship. Damage from bridge strikes, doors, or normal wear isn't covered, but anything we built that fails — we replace.
-
Can I order this rod with a custom wrap or color?
Yes. CHAOS rods are built to order. Standard colors and wrap patterns are listed on the variant selector; if you want something not shown, email customerservice@chaosfishing.com with your request and the shop foreman will work with you on a custom build.
-
What is the lead time on a new build?
Typical lead time is 4-6 weeks from order to ship. Custom wraps and finishes add 1-2 weeks. Current shop turnaround is posted on our homepage during build season.
-
Does this rod ship with a tube or sock?
Every CHAOS rod ships in a hard-shell rod tube with a cloth sock inside. Tube carries the CHAOS logo and a SKU label so it is easy to grab the right rod out of the locker.
