Grappler utilizes Shimano's highest-performing rod blank technologies, Spiral X and Hi-Power X, to deliver the most powerful, lightest, sensitive, offshore jigging rods available. Spiral X blanks are 250% more structurally rigid and 180% less prone to twisting than standard blank construction. Available in Jigging, Slow Jigging, Light Jigging and Casting actions, there's a perfect Grappler for every jigging situation. Spiral X construction consists of 3 layers- a middle layer of vertical fibers and a an inner/outer layer of carbon tape that tightly winds the blank diagonally in opposite directions. Spiral X achieves enhanced compression rigidity and enhanced torsional rigidity without adding extra weight. This facilitates instant power transmission for precise casting and fighting fish. Hi-Power X construction is the blank's outermost layer is diagonally wrapped with carbon tape, it forms an array of 'X' shapes. The width of the tape, its winding angle, and the part of the rod being wrapped are fine tuned according to the target fish species.
